Christmas Tag!!!

Recently discovered a super festive (right now, at least) blog that Hollie runs and while I was reading her Blogmas posts, I ran across this one and thought what better way to let you all in on a few questions about myself and Christmas!!!! A tag about me and about Christmas, well it doesn’t get much better than that!

  1. What is your favorite Christmas film?
It’s definitely changed over the past few years, and honestly, probably every year! My favorite this year would have to be The Family Stone, and for soooo many reasons. It’s the perfect amount of Holiday, the perfect amount of drama and the perfect amount of romance. Being a child, I would have turned my nose up, but being in my mid-twenties now, it’s one that I can’t brag about enough!
  2. Have you ever had a White Christmas?
White Christmas, no. A White Christmas Eve, yes. It was the year before my grandpa (dad’s dad) had passed away. He had been diagnosed with cancer for some time now and he knew his days were numbered, the one thing he wanted more than most was to have a White Christmas and it was the prettiest thing. It wasn’t anything like people up north see, or anything that stuck to the ground, but it was snow falling from the sky and it was the most amazing thing from what I remember.
  3. Where do you usually spend your holiday?
This has changed so much from my traditions of when I was younger. It’s sad really, and so I won’t dwell on the subject too much but so much has changed since I’ve lost so many family members and this topic isn’t something I like to talk about too much.
  4. What is your favorite Christmas song?

It’s from the Christmas film “Christmas with the Kranks” and ever since I’ve seen the movie and fell in love with the song, it’s been one that my mom and I have on repeat every holiday season!
  5. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
As a child, the only presents we would open on Christmas Eve were those from my dad’s side since that’s where we would spend our night. Other than that, my parents  made us wait until Christmas morning to open the presents from them and Santa!
  6. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Doner, Blitzen, AND Rudolph!! I always have to sing the song to remember all of them.
  7. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?
Well, considering that my mom and I are having to make new ones, I’m looking forward to this huge Secret Santa that my sister-n-law’s family does! After our year of horrible events, her family invited us to take part and spend the holiday with them!
  8. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
It’s fake, unfortunately. I don’t remember the last time my family had a real one, but according to my mom, my brother used to be allergic to them. So we deck our fake trees out in some pretty theme every year to make up for it!
  9. What is your all-time favorite holiday food/sweet treat?
Okay, so this one is crazy because this holiday cookie has been a pretty popular one the past few years but it became my favorite when the live action “How the Grinch stole Christmas” came out. Wow, so 17 years ago haha. But I was always that kid who liked to play around with the bonus features on dvd’s and I discovered that this dvd in particular had recipes on it! I wish I could grab a screenshot of it, but it was this:

  10. Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better
Honestly, I love giving them a whole lot more! Mainly because I’m that person that picks up on the little things about someone and I like to gift sentimental or memorable things – something heartfelt or something that was mentioned of being wanted!
  11. What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?
Would I be horrible if I said I don’t necessarily remember!? I receive great gifts every year, always a new favorite!
  12. What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
This is going to sound very cliche of me, but New York City for sure! The pictures I’ve seen of the city around the holiday season are some of the most beautiful pictures I’ve seen. I’d love to be able to go in December, maybe one year.

  13. Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
Compared to my mother, I fail miserably! She wraps her gifts with pretty bows and curly ribbon and I slap one of those pre-made sticky bows on the top and call it good. BUT compared to my sister-n-law, oh, I’m a professional!
  14. Most memorable holiday moment?
Probably the year my dad’s side of the family went to Disneyworld! We stayed in a huge condo and went to all of the parks, it was amazing!
  15. When did you realize the truth about Santa?
Okay, so I totally believe BUT when I did find out, I don’t remember how old I was, but my brother was the one who broke the news to me on the way to my grandparents house ON CHRISTMAS DAY!
  16. Do you make New Years resolutions? Do you stick to them?
I don’t usually make them and that’s for the simple fact that I don’t stick to them. When I do make them and end up failing, I feel terrible about myself, so I’ve stopped haha
  17. What makes the holidays special for you?
The whole Christmas season is just magical. I love the hustle and crowds and everyone shopping and how busy places get. The colder weather, the occasional snowfall, the gift giving!! But most importantly, spending time with family!
